Parents -- Wake up!!!

In the past few weeks we have lost Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, and now Steve McNair. Some by natural causes, others un-natural; and now Steve McNair, a victim of an apparent (non-confirmed) murder. A friend of mine recently told me that a young kid in her neighborhood was bragging because he learned how to make a pipe bomb. Whether or not the kid is telling the truth or not, the kid is 13 years old! When did we as parents, or civilized members of this world, close our eyes so tight that the very idea of a 13 year old kid knowing how to make a pipe bomb no longer sends red flags up. Wake up people. The scariest thing as a child that I had to worry about was whether or not the town drunk was going to try to scare you as he was stumbling down the street (realistically, he probably never had the strength, will, or desire to harm any of the neighborhood kids). Our children today are slaves to the digital world. Whether it's video games, internet, chat rooms, or cell phones, kids are just too busy to go outside, make friends, and play dodge ball, etc. We will go online and put our names in a hat to receive tickets to Michael Jackson's (God rest his soul) memorial, but we are too ignorant to know when our children are practicing to become the next "Menace To Society". I do hope they find the person that took the lives of Steve McNair and the unidentified woman he was with. Wake up parents!!!

Why is there so much hate in America?

People, wake up. This is 2009 and there is too much hate going on. Whether it's hatred for one's music, style, clothing, nationality, religion, sexuality, views, or just hatred for man and womankind -- it needs to stop. The creator (yours and mine) has put us on this planet for a very short time. Why waste it hating. Why not embrace everything, everyone, and every idea. This revolution IS being televised and it's on every channel.
